we were in the guest house for five nights, had to leave our original plan to go the dents du midi (by bad weather). we loved our stay in the guest house and had dinner there twice. the menu was a nice selection of local dishes and Canadian specialties. the food was very tasty, the service was before place and very friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. kelly is a great host and we will definitely be back! I enjoyed the three nights that I stayed alone in the cottage very much. I could cook for myself, sleep in a clean bed, drink a beer (they have a lot of sorts at the restaurant or un front of the cottage, have a nice...chat with Kelly, the boss ; . I can really recommend it. It was such a great pleasure to be there. Thank you very much!!
Chuck was a great host and looked after us all well. I had a superb cabin are with wild, freshly picked mushrooms that was to die for. My wife and children all had the salmon and loved it. Theirs was cooked beautifully with lovely fresh...sautéed veg. Nice place and do step away from the village Centre and take the trip up to Grand Paradis, you will miss a gem if you don't.
Nice lunch! perfect place from the ski slopes managed by Canadian owners, as I understood, so the portions are quite much with a North American touch.
Lovely lunch! Perfect spot off the ski slopes managed by Canadian owners as I understood, so portions are quite ample with a North American touch.
She’s Canadian and handles front of house. He’s the kitchen and is both a chef and a butcher (and looks after the vegetable garden, chickens and trout at the back). The Canadian and Swiss flags move gently outside in a summer breeze with tables and...umbrellas on the courtyard outside. I needed somewhere to stop for minutes for a work call. I only grabbed a lager. But it was a friendly welcome and quick service. It was lunchtime and the tables were busy. It not crowded. The food looked good. I enjoyed a meaty burger here just before Covid lockdown. Downsides? Inside they could do more to combat the inevitable flies. We’d probably only eat in the courtyard until they do that but maybe that’s just us. Otherwise, there’s a good selection of beers and a well stocked bar. The menu has some quick favourites (often with a Swiss or Canadian twist) and some tasty sounding plates of food. Alongside a friendly welcome, there are some great views. I’m writing this in the summer but in the ski season it’s well placed as somewhere either to stay or to stop-off at on the way home.
