Really enjoyed my meal here. Fresh homemade soup with really good flavour and lovely home made bread; superb stilton and onion tart, steaming, totally fresh, and served with an interesting salad and home made chutney; pork snitzel on a bed of pasta and salsa; lastly a lovely fresh cheesecake. Everything was just so fresh and tasty, leaving me in no doubt that it had been cooked there and then to order. Loved the open... View all feedback.
What OnTravelsAgain doesn't like about The Farndon:
We called in here for a drink. It is probably 15 years ago since I was last here and had heard good reports. It was a Saturday afternoon, we called in for a drink, to find the place pretty quiet. The bar is tucked away in the corner which seemed strange, the main bar area felt more like a canteen. We did not eat there, but I cannot get excited about the general feeling of the place. Last night, I dined with a group of 5 and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious homemade hamburger priced at £7.95. It was excellent, I highly recommend it! Gerry
The B and B was fantastic superb , the owners and staff couldn't do enough for you , had Seabass for evening meal was top class ,then sat around the open log fire and drank g and t from there large selection of gins to choose from , and then enjoyed the atmosphere at the bar from all various age groups , had a great nice sleep ,shower was fantastic in our en suit and had a superb English breakfast in the morning,we went out for a walk around farndon and the staff were only to pleased to keep our overnight bags in a private room till we returned were we then decided to stay and have a fantastic Sunday roast with a deserts to die for , loved our stay for my birthday
I visited this restaurant with a friend, we were the first ones in at 12. Roast beef as thin as paper, only 2 roast potatoes, no other potatoes offered, there was a dish of vegetables Desserts were o.k, had 2 drinks a soft drink and a beer £36, very overpriced. Can't see this lasting too long at that price, won't be visiting again
Visited for the first time since re-opening. Have updated the old, worn out pub to a more homely place with a nice fire, bar area and selection of drinks. The place has a very homely feel and a good menu without being too vast. We had the chicken and goats cheese burger, regular burger, chicken curry, slow cooked beef and coconut chilli chicken. All were faultless- as were the puddings. The salted caramel cheesecake was to die for! It is well worth a visit and can’t wait to try the Sunday lunch some time.
