During our three-night stay at Pan Kled, we frequented Shann Cafe for meals multiple times. We were impressed by the freshly made, delicious, and affordable food. The restaurant offers a clearly marked vegan menu, but also serves non-vegan options. The service was excellent and the staff was delightful.
We are so happy we decided to make the trip to this restaurant, even though it is a bit off the beaten path. We were initially concerned about a review mentioning non-vegan food being served by mistake, but we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dishes. The menu included some rare finds and they even offer vegan desserts. The smoothie we tried was amazing and felt like a treat. The service was excellent and the restaurant is located in a beautiful setting. I can imagine it would be a wonderful experience to stay here during Veganuary.
I stayed close to this restaurant during my two weeks in Chiang Rai and tried it out six times because they had a vegan menu. The first five visits were great - I loved the decor, the food was delicious, and the staff were friendly. They offer a three-page vegan menu with plenty of choices. The restaurant is open-air with water features in the resort, but can be a bit tricky during peak mosquito hours. On my sixth visit, I ordered the pineapple fried rice from the vegan menu only to realize it had egg mixed in. The staff also handle check-ins and were busy at the time, so I didn't bother complaining. Although I would have given the restaurant a top review, being served a non-vegan dish from the vegan menu was disappointing. It's important for restaurants to accurately label their dishes, especially for vegan customers like myself.
Ordered a Tofu Scramble, Pineapple Fried Rice....Tofu Scramble had a little too much turmeric, but it was tasty nevertheless. Pineapple fried rice was very good. Asked for less oil and they did so, the Thai put WAYYYY too much oil in their food. Nice meal:
