The atmosphere is bustling and energetic, with the staff creating a homey and welcoming feeling. While some dishes like the French toast and pumpkin pancakes left something to be desired, others like the chicken sausage and coffee cake were delicious. With huge portions, great coffee, and friendly service, Lou Mitchell's is a must-visit spot for anyone looking for a taste of old-school American diner nostalgia.
A traditional diner, the waitstaff are all incredibly nice. Good portion of food too. The pancakes were amazing
I'm not a fan of the traditional American breakfast, but if you are, I highly recommend this place. Just keep in mind that it's in the pricier side but the unlimited coffee is great!
I take family and friends who visit Chicago to Lou MItchell's every time, and everyone leaves happy. an increasingly rare diner experience from top to bottom, with portions that would make a lumberjack blush,.
What a comfortable, super great place for breakfast or brunch. Service is outstanding, food amazing. The inside is bustling with Chicago live. The staff is excellent just ???? customer attention. Coffee fill ups no need to ask or you need a fresh squeezedorange juice. Yeah this is your kinda place a must visit. Enjoy ??????????????????????
Decided to check out a little food history while in Chicago. Overall a disappointment but there were some bright spots. Atmosphere was great...lots of energy and for a birthday, the entire diner sang. It was pretty heartwarming. People werenice and it really felt homey without feeling cheap. Food was ok at best. For a place that prides itself on its baking, theFrench toast looked great but was super dry. And because the bread was so thick, you couldn't get pat it. Definately need tosoak in a batter or liquid before cooking. Pumpkin pancakes served with a ton of whipped cream. Whole thing tasted like a bakedpumpkin pie. Issue was the pancakes were nearly raw in the middle. Bacon we asked for never arrived but at least it wasn't onthe check.
