Talk about a hidden gem. We literally fly to Chicago just to have sushi here. There is no comparison to the quality of the fish and rice. We went to Nobu a month ago and it was a joke compared to Mirai. It’s worth every dollar. Be prepared for it to ruin every other sushi place you eat at after. One of the best sushi places you can go and definitely the best in Chicago. It's expensive but well worth the cost. From friendly service to amazing fish this place truly satisfies the soul.
Mirai is the best and most consistent sushi I’ve had in Chicago. I especially love the nigiri and hand rolls. The fish tastes like we are next to the ocean and not at all in the Midwest. I am so lucky to have this in the neighborhood.
Overpriced and racist treatment for food, which is at best moderate. in front of the house was a white man who treated us with contempt as soon as he heard our table on Spanish and passed us on to an inconspicuous Spanish speaking server. eating was the worst sushi I had in chicago. $24 for her special salmon roll, which only tasted like sea radish. their Sashimi Cook trio did not taste fresh - they seem to use soy and Wasabi sauces to mask bad quality fish. they are better on the go anywhere else for better treatment, ambiente and eating.
Great experience. the quality of the fish was incredible. we gave our server the dizzy and everything was amazing. would be eating here definitiw again in the wicker park!
