Contribute FeedbackMon Ami Gabi offers a mix of experiences, with some customers praising the delicious food and impeccable service, while others found the food to be subpar and the service lacking. The establishment has a lovely setting with old-world charm, offering reliable dishes like steak frites and profiteroles. However, some customers were disappointed with the quality of certain dishes, such as overcooked roasted chicken and reheated Benedict muffins. The restaurant also drew mixed reviews on its handling of COVID-related surcharges and policies. Despite some negative feedback, Mon Ami Gabi received high praise for its attentive staff during special events, with one reviewer highlighting the exceptional service for a bridal shower. Ultimately, the restaurant seems to cater to a diverse range of clientele, with varying levels of satisfaction depending on the individual dining experience.
Ooh là là, I was a little food drunk after we left this place! The restaurant is inside of a gorgeous building in Lincoln Park right by the lake and the zoo. The atmosphere is breezy and friendly yet sophisticated. Everything we ordered was absolutely divine, but the knockout winner was those warm Oiishi prawns. I wanted to drink that lemon butter (and did). Extra points for having zero proof cocktails on the menu!
Very nice patio in the shad of building.Steak frites still reliable and profiteroles great.Unfortunately, the roasted chicken was barely edible overcooked and no taste I should have sent it back). Finally, the continued 3% surcharge which was initially for extra COVID Expenes is annoying. Lettuce should simply adjust meal prices as appropriate instead of sneaking in extra fees.
My go-to spot for special occasions. It's a cozy bistro in a quiet area of Lincoln Park. Service is always impeccable, they accommodate dietary restrictions without issue, and food is delicious. Steak frites classique is my go-to, but you can't go wrong with any of their entrees.Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free menu available.
Sadly, as a first customer didn’t feel welcomed at all. My waiter was a bit clunky and not real professional. My table ticked back and forth even after invading to ask for an adjustment. The food was sub par and overpriced for what was gotten. Lack of flavor, salad was missing taste and escargot was bland and very small. Wherever they’re sourcing their snails they need to change vendors because ultra tiny and bad for business. Coffee was also sub par. Sad because it’s a lovely setting with old world charm but entirely misses the mark. I suspect from what observed they count on the neighborhood regulars who come in for a glass of wine and dinner. I also didn’t have my table bussed, had to move my finished plate out of the way. The management needs to get off their high horse and pay attention to these details. Not sure if I’ll return nor give recommendation to friends.
Service was quite sub par, waiter basically took our order and that’s it. Also forgot my sisters drink.
