The prices are excessively high. We won't be coming here as often as we did before. It's a pity since it's so conveniently located for us.
We ordered three burritos, two guacamoles, one sour cream, and one burrito without cheese. However, when our order arrived, it was missing the guacamoles and sour cream, and one of the burritos had cheese. We informed the waiter about the mistakes, and he brought us a single bowl of guacamole. The food itself was tasty. When we received the bill, we were charged for three guacamoles and the sour cream that we never got. The server refused to correct the bill and would not split it among the three of us. Overall, we experienced very poor customer service.
The night before our visit, our 25-year-old son, who works as a cook at one of Chicago's top restaurants, dined at Frontera's and said he preferred Perez. We didn't order much: just a round of margaritas, a platter of langoustine shrimp, and the complimentary chips and salsa. The langoustines, served with a delicious spicy reddish-orange sauce, were absolutely delightful and came in generous portions. The chips were fresh and warm, and both salsas—one pico de gallo and a smoky red pepper salsa—were incredibly fresh and flavorful. Next time my wife and I are in Chicago, we’ll definitely be returning for dinner. Our server was also excellent!
If you work hard for your money don't waste it by eating here.
