Small, but not cramped traditional Italian. At least that I can tell lol. We were greeted by the owner, I think, and seated by the hostess. The staff was great and very attentive. They have a sizable wine list and a midranged quality bar. Their dinner menu is the star though. I had a fortuitous miscommunication with 'Joe ' our waiter, and received the wrong entree. What Antone Cruickshank doesn't like about Viaggio Ristorante and Lounge:
Loved ambiance and fun service with a traditional Italian feel. We got a variety of dishes including the vodka pasta, risotto, chicken marsala, and one of the specials and no one was ecstatic about their dishes, the pasta was overcooked. 7/10 meal. View all feedback.
Viaggio continues to hit it out of the park for me.
We had a fantastic meal sitting outside at the sidewalk cafe. The risotto was a delightful combination of mushrooms, sausage, and sun-dried tomatoes.
Perfectly laid back, friendly, neighborhood favorite it seems from the look of the crowd, some dining al fresco with their furkids.
I haven't been back in a few years. I wanted a comfortable place to spend an evening with friends. Reminds of Via Veneto ... and it didn't disappoint! Cool, comfortable and the food was wonderful! We will come back!
Great food and service. Very friendly staff and very accommodating for our two children. We all ate until we were full and went into our pockets with two more meals worth of food. Great neighborhood restaurant and good Italian food. I would recommend the Calimari as a starter who can keep up with the best that Chicago has to offer. We will come back 10 out of 10 experiences! ????????
