The experience at this restaurant was fantastic. The food was hot, fresh, and delivered on time. We ordered a package deal that included 6 seafood, meat, or vegetable dishes. Two dishes were pre-selected for us, and we got to choose the other 4 from a selection of 24 varieties. The package also included 2 large containers of rice for $100, which was delivered for free within 5km or for an extra $10 if further away. The chicken ribs with spicy salt were crispy, salty, and delicious. The garlic fried Chinese green was not too oily and very tasty. Our favorite dish of the night was the seafood combination with tofu, which had big seafood pieces and golden tofu in a delicious sauce. The prawn with vermicelli was cooked perfectly and the prawns were huge. The fish fillet in batter with sweet corn sauce was fresh and crispy, with the sauce served separately to maintain its crispiness. The Satay beef was a generous portion of thinly sliced beef and vermicelli. We were unable to finish everything and had enough leftovers for lunch the next day. All the food was well-packaged to ensure that everything stayed crispy. We were all satisfied and will definitely order from this restaurant again. The only thing missing to make the meal perfect would be prawn crackers.
I have been taking away the roasted stuff for years. Pre-order then for Chinese New Year’s Eve family dinner. It’s almost a family tradition. Always good. Unsure why the ratings are so low. It’s not fine dinning here but I find the staff are friendly. They will chat with you if you strike a conversation with them.
If you’re willing to look past the daggy decor, this place has some of the best roast meats in Melbourne. If ordering from the menu, stick to the recommended dishes some of the less common items can be pretty ghastly. Overall a good feed.
If I don't feel like cooking and need to bring a dish to share, I always end up getting their roast BBQ for takeaway. Super flavorsome and juicy meat, love their Char Siu and Crispy Pork. Fresh as always. Remember to bring cash with you as they accept cash only.
Decided to give this restaurant a try despite its low rating. We ordered pork siu mai, roast duck, steamed barramundi stir fry seasonal veg (not in photo). Food was not the best but they were all good (definitely not at 2.5 rating level) worth it, except for the vegetables which weren’t worth its price in my opinion. However I’d come back for the fish duck!
