This is a small restaurant that can easily be sold out. Reservation is therefore highly recommended to avoid disappointment. The dining room provides a magnificent view of the Saint-Lawrence River. The food served uses the local products: nice fresh cod or halibut, little shrimps from the Saint-Lawrence River. The food is prepared by a food lover and brought to your table by a nice lady willing to answer your questio... View all feedback.
What Suellen Madeira doesn't like about Restaurant-motel l'etoile du nord:
We ate here because we were spending a night in the motel. The took the table d' hote menu and started with shrimps, followed by cod seafood au gratin and finished with the desert of the day. We drank a local light red wine...which matched the fish and seafood very well. The price of the food and wine was very reasonable. The view to the bay was impressive with the diving Fou de bassan birds. View all feedback.
Not many restaurants in this area. We were so lucky we found this one!!! I had the sausage plate and wife had the baked spaghetti. Both were get. The owner even moved us to a table right by the window with a great water view.
Stayed here October The package included, for an very moderate price, our dinner and breakfast the next day. We were totally charmed by the staff and found the food to be absolutely delicious. For our dinner my wife and I chose: Appetizer : Crab...Neige Soup : Cream of Celery with scallops Main course : my wife had the Atlantic Salmon and I had the coquille de fruit de Mer for dessert : i had chômeur and my wife had framboise bûche for our breakfast we chose crêpes and french toast in the style of Gaspesie As I stated earlier, taking dinner at the motel was optional, but only a fool would turn this down!
The best place we experienced on road Fish was veerry fresh. Service good. Sea blue, green field, fresh air, drinks good, deserts more than good.. prices acceptable. What else one may expect. Try... one must do..
Had read reviews and made sure we stopped on our trip through the spectacular Haute Gaspesie. This restaurant is somewhat isolated but well worth visiting. On the St Lawrence side of the road. Charming interior. Waitress/owner was very nice, and patient with my rudimentary Québécois...French. It wasn't necessary: she speaks excellent English. Specials included cod (moudre), local trout, as well as lobster (houmard). I had the moudre roti (roasted), and my wife had moudre a la moutarde (in mustard sauce). Both perfectly prepared and delicious. Both in the range of Canadian. Not pricey for the product. I would confidently recommend this restaurant.
The restaurant has a breathtaking view on the sea. But the best part is the food. It's all home made with care and is mostly seafood based on Quebec recipes. Most of us had the Acras de Morues and they were delicious. Try to keep...a little space for the deserts, they are to die for. All of the are also typical quebecian dishes. The service is also excellent. If you go in the evening, you should book in advance, it's not necessary for lunch.
