We eat here several times a year and chose Pappas to celebrate our 43rd anniversary. Our request for a booth was honored and it was in a fairly quiet location. Our server, Marly, was friendly, attentive and efficient. My wife and I both enjoyed a cup of Maryland Crab soup. It was well-seasoned without being overly salty. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her LARGE crab cake, noting it contained backfin meat. I was very happ... View all feedback.
What Mark S doesn't like about Pappas Restaurant - Cockeysville:
First visit, food was good overall especially the crab cakes and crab soup, but sides were average. The service was nothing to write home about. Celebrating a 90th birthday but no mention was made about it from staff even though it was noted when reservation was made. Not sure why they bother to ask if celebrating special occasion if not even addressed. Will not come back for any special occasions, maybe just for car... View all feedback.
My friends and I had a fantastic Christmas lunch at Papas. The ambiance was wonderful and the restaurant was very clean. Papas is always beautifully decorated for holidays. Our server was excellent, very courteous and incredibly helpful. The Crabcake meals were amazing, with big, succulent pieces of white crab meat in a delicious crabcake. We all had a great time. I am bringing some special out-of-town friends for lunch at Papas tomorrow because I really love dining there.
Love this place ! The food service is always the best their crab cakes are AMAZING!
My family and I visited Pappas in Baltimore for a birthday party and were told it was a must-visit spot. We were seated at a spacious high top table and were immediately greeted by a waiter named Dylan P. Unfortunately, Dylan's attitude left much to be desired. He seemed unenthusiastic and impatient, asking about our checks before even taking our drink orders. He was rude and dismissive throughout our meal, culminating in him throwing our bills at us and mentioning the included 20% gratuity in a condescending manner. Despite the delicious food and impressive presentation, Dylan's behavior tainted our experience. Our bill for a party of 11 exceeded $400 due to the automatic gratuity. Thankfully, another manager named Sam was understanding and receptive to our complaints. I hope that Dylan receives proper training and coaching before I consider recommending Pappas to others in the future. Thank you, Sam, for addressing our concerns.
My salad with tuna was the best I've had on the East Coast. Fresh and grilled to perfection!
The food and service were both good. The restaurant's ambiance is slightly better than a diner, but it appears that renovations have not been done in quite some time. This makes me hesitant to recommend this place to family and friends.
