Delicious late dinner. Was one of the very few places still open that would seat you for a meal after 8.30pm on a Saturday night. Food was outstanding and servings were enormous! Bar area was full and only one or two small tables left in the dining room - speaks of the quality of the food. Service was a little hit and miss.. most waiters were very friendly and cheerful, however there was an odd one that seemed like t... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Alpine Hotel Restaurant Cooma:
We booked 2 twin rooms for the night with share bathroom. Having the pub restaurant on site was great and the food was good. Very busy though and quite a long wait for meal plus hard ro get a seat. It was a Friday in school holidays though and everyone was heading to the snow.Rooms were OK but people were coming and going all night so pretty noisy.Bathrooms were very basic. Not expensive though so good value for a co... View all feedback.
After waiting for 40 minutes, our food finally arrived. We had requested that the kids' meal be brought out at the same time as the adults' meal, but our request was ignored. When I raised this issue, I was told it would only be another 5 minutes, but it actually took 25 minutes! The katsu burger was not authentic and was smothered in mayonnaise, while the cheeseburger had a terrible taste. I ordered the "bad boy chips" and paid for them, only to receive cheap chips that were not even beer battered. As a chef myself, I found the wait times to be unacceptable and ignoring customer requests is unacceptable. Despite there being 5 people in the kitchen, the service was incredibly slow. In my experience, such slow service and subpar food would have resulted in serious consequences at my workplace. What is the excuse for such slow service and poor quality food?
I stayed overnight and the room was extremely small. I was still itchy and unsure why, and my wife noticed a strong urine smell coming from the floor next to her all night. There was no restaurant available as it was closed. I would not recommend staying at this place.
We were extremely pleased with our restaurant selection for our overnight stay in Cooma. There was a diverse menu that catered to everyone's tastes. The children's meals were substantial, as were the main courses. My husband couldn't finish his parmigiana, and I thoroughly enjoyed the chef's special curry, which was authentically Sri Lankan and perfectly spiced. The service was excellent- attentive and friendly. We highly recommend this restaurant. We also noticed a lot of grilled options passing by, and the steaks and fry-ups looked fantastic.
We stopped in Cooma for one night and had a meal at the restaurant at The Alpine Hotel. The staff were friendly and provided excellent service from the moment we arrived. We sat and ate in the restaurant part of the hotel and the room was lovely. My husband and father in law ate the Sirloin Steak, a generous serving at a great price that they both enjoyed. The kid's meals were also great and a decent size for my 11 and 12 year old one had the bolognese and chicken schnitzel. I had the Chicken Schnitzel Parmagina the serving size was very generous. The others had fish and chips which was also a good size and very enjoyable. We had previously eaten at a very nice Italian Restaurant in Canberra and everyone preferred the meals at the Alpine Hotel. We will be back again next time we are in Cooma.
What a surprise, unassuming building fro outside, standard aussie bar inside. Food absolute superb when taking into consideration price and quality. Moroccan lamb salad must be recommened. A very very pleasant surprise
