When this place first opened and for a good while afterwards I raved about them. I recommended them to everyone. But they've gone downhill. They vary so much that it's unpredictable what you're going to get. Sometimes after they're cooked the tray is swimming in fat sometimes the pastry is so dry that they're hard to eat. Super tasty pasties, full of meat, and perfectly cooked. The season was brilliant, nice and peppery. Was told they are all hand made which is always better.

"This place was a massive surprise with gorgeous food and dog friendly. From the outside The Rising Sun looks like an average village pub, but upon entry you realise that it’s not your average pub. The food although not cheap, was gorgeous this is an understatement we had a very warm welcome upon entering the pub by whom I assume was the owner or manager. He was extremely passionate about the ability of the chef and extremely knowledgeable about the food on offer as well as the drinks available. I would definitely recommend a visit to this hidden delight and we will certainly be back for a visit next year"

"A week sea kayaking round the Isles of Scilly had us based in the excellent campsite on St Martin which was matched by the staff, service and food/drink in the Seven Stones Inn. The best view of the IOS was enjoyed through a Solar Haze and we were sustained by the superb pies and ribs. Both Sophies, Dylan, Chess and Emily have the best office and their playlist was the icing on a very tasty cake. Wholly recommended."
