I was searching for Indian food in Coventry and stumbled upon this hidden gem. The food was fantastic, especially the mixed curry. In most Indian restaurants, I have often found people dining alone to be treated poorly, but the experience here was quite the opposite. The staff treated me very well and the service was excellent. What George Lewis doesn't like about Akbars:
I have ordered king prawn biryani I have no idea why have they given equal amount of aloo curry as the biryani itself I ended up eating equal mix of biryani with aloo curry. I have no idea about how the biryani tastes like They have added small ice cubes in the in a glass and gave along with coke I got the ice cubes in my mouth each time I had a sip The restaurant is okay to go as per my experience View all feedback.

Nigel has been running an amazing Indian restaurant for decades. My family has been going since the 90s and we still go for special occasions. We had a delicious curry last week and the service was excellent. Thanks again!
Very tasty food and welcoming staff within a jolly nice restaurant, all good for us.
My partner and I went to a show in Albany and decided to have a meal beforehand. After searching for a place to eat, we decided to book a table at this restaurant. I can only say that we were glad we found it. Everything from start to finish was amazing - the staff, the food, and the atmosphere were all perfect. We couldn't finish our meal, so we asked if we could take it to go after the show. This was no problem at all. We look forward to experiencing their excellent service again in the future. Highly recommend.
On our way home from visiting the city center for an early dinner. it wasn't one thing here and it was as good as we remember. will be back soon.
