Epicure Restaurant Tafewa - Davenport

Have visited this training restaurant a number of times over the years and always been very impressed by the quality of the food. The menu is often adventurous. The type of menu varies during the year and can be a la carte, set, or degustation, There is also a Christmas menu. The food is always beautifully cooked and presented and the quantities are generous. It can be difficult to get a booking as the restaurant is open only during term times, only a couple of times a week and does not seat a huge number of people. The prices are very good and much cheaper than the main restaurants. The competence of the students waiting on the tables varies with amount of experience they have, but they are well supervised and are instructed as they go along, when this is necessary. A nice treat to go here from time to time.

I dined here recently with friends just to try something different. We had the set menu for $28pp which was a 3 course meal. It was all really delicious and plenty of food. The dessert was amazing and one of my friends asked for the recipe which was gladly printed out for her to take - but probably won't attempt as it involved many steps!! hahaha. The students were a bit nervous but very eager to please and do things right - they were well supervised. Very reasonably priced and a nice night out mid week which wasn't late as 6:15pm start.

My husband & I dined here just before the break and was happy with the service and food. We visited on a buffet night, but I will be booking on an al a carte night next time. The Students do a great job and the settings are very professional.

They try their best and that is the good thing. You have that food experience on a high level, but at minimal cost. Grandious !!

This is a training restaurant for the Tate students to learn the hospitality restaurant service and food . The service is very good and the food ,quality and servings excellent.
