A little wine bar on the water! the wine and spirit list is incredible, only the best! The guys who look after it are professional and friendly and you can be sure that you will be always looked after! When you visit them, make sure you order the cheese plate as it might be the best you'll ever have in Sydney! View all feedback.
What Emiliano Bartell doesn't like about Hickson's Food and Wine:
Booked this place for a pre theatre meal. Arrived at 6.00, had ordered by 6.20 and took their recommendation of 5 plates to share. We confirmed with them the time our show started. At 7.00 pm we had only received two plates, one more by 7.10. Were told the other were being plated up but we hadn't seen them by 7.20 when we left. Just made it in time for show. Service was friendly but quite, if they can't get it togeth... View all feedback.
I have been to Hickson's a couple of times. It is a perfect eating place for any kind of event, everything on the menu is absolutely delightful! The staff are awesome, so is the view and so is the setting of the restaurant. A bit higher in price range, but nothing too much to complain about. So just go to Hickson's, do choose a wine or two from their amazing selection, and just eat, drink and be merry.

Located an easy walking distance from Roslyn Packer Theatre, the restaurant is obviously experienced in catering to the pre-theatre crowd; we only had half an hour to the show yet were able to enjoy a dip plate and coffees with everything brought out within minutes of ordering.
Came in for pre-theater dinner, we ordered some cocktails, oysters, scallops, mushroom dish, tuna on betel leaf, Calamari dish and desserts. I have to say all the savory tapas foods were fantastic, we were sharing between 4 people and everyone loved it. Their food is simple style cooking but it was made with fresh ingredients with nice flavor. However I don't think they are really good at making cocktails, I think they are more of a wine bar (looking at their extensive wine menus) than cocktail bar. My martini was not that amazing neither as margaritas. I wasn't too big on desserts also; they only have two options on menu which we ordered. It was a little unsophisticated and frankly little boring. I would definitely visit again if I am in the area for their Tapas dinner. Service was attentive and friendly. goodtasteguide.blogspot.com
The chef here is excellent, he has a great knowledge of his ingredient and the results are exquisite with a wine list to match and an excellent service this is a place worth a detour especially on a hot day facing the harbor...magical.
