The Old Shillelagh - Detroit

Food was AMAZING!! We ordered the vegan Reuben egg rolls and the vegan Shepherd's pie! Both were so good! Will definitely visit again! Would love to try their BRUNCH!!

I recently visited this restaurant to try their vegan shepherd's pie and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. I also ordered their pretzel bites with vegan queso (made from carrots!) and was very impressed. This place is definitely worth a visit!

I ordered a Vegan Coney Dog and Beyond Shepherd's Pie on DoorDash. The Coney Dog came with vegan chili but a meat sausage. The Shepherd's Pie didn't seem to have any meat chunks in it but I was too disgusted to finish it. I understand that the kitchen staff is probably overworked and underpaid but this is not acceptable.

We stopped in while in town for a concert last night. They do have a whole “plant based” menu on the backside of their regular menu. While I appreciated the options, some menu items do not specify if the sour cream is vegan, or if the queso is. The wording was quite confusing. I tried the beyond buffalo chicken wrap. It was doused in red hot (I love, so not complaining), but was lacking a “ranch” dressing that I was promised. It was very filling. HOWEVER, while there with my carnivore husband, he tried the nacho fries (not vegan). We both ended up very sick within an hour of eating here. Not sure if food was contaminated or what the deal was. 3 stars for the options available, just hope they cook everything separately and maybe clean up the menu. Not sure we’ll be back.

During my visit to Vegfest, I had the super nachos, and they quickly became one of my absolute favorite dishes at the event!
