The view alone is worth the 5 stars. A short but breathtaking cable car ride to the top is truly exhilarating, particularly in Winter when the trees are full off glistening white snow. The food is above average in the restaurant with a good range of offerings including typical Austrian fayre. This should definitely be on your list of places to visit in Vorarlberg. If you're feeling energetic it's possible to walk up... View all feedback.
What Lutz Walter doesn't like about Panoramarestaurant Karren:
Fantastic view of Dornbirn, Bregenz and the Lake was somewhat spoiled by slow service and undercooked food.Visited here recently and there was simply not enough staff to cope with the large summer evening crowd. It was made worse by having to send under cooked chicken back and then wait 20 mins for a replacement. A shame as the view is breathtaking. View all feedback.
You can take the cable car up and/or down to this panoramic restaurant. We chose to walk up and it took the best part of an hour and 15 mins. The walk up is very steep in parts, but picturesque and cool under the trees. The cable car back down cost 5 euros each. You visit this restaurant for the view, not necessarily for the food. It has outside seating with fantastic views, but also great views from the purpose built glass indoor areas. A recent addition is a sky walk - a platform seemingly floating above the steep drop. The food offered was typical local fayre, but also offered some vegetarian and fish options. The food was okay, with service that was not exactly attentive and occasionally a bit grumpy, but as I said you go here for the views. Highly recommended and we hope to visit again.
Fantastic high quality food, service and views.. all round winner. Stunning restaurant.A must for all visitors to Vorralberg.Obviously there is a cablecar ride to top of mountain to enable you to take in this fantastic panorama.. v smooth and quiet ride up through the clouds.. and when the cloud passed.. there was an amazing grand reveal feeling at the breathtaking views.
This restaurant has great views! Both in the summer and in the winter. The food is a little overpriced as expected for a tourist spot. The hike up is great if you're looking for exercise. Otherwise, the gondola ride is nice and easy.
A lovely meal slightly overpriced but I guess your paying for the stunning mountain scenery. If you haven't booked you may be disappointed at busy times or at best you'll get a table without a view. Not sure I'd like to sit in the part of the restaurant that is cantilevered out over the mountain but others seemed to love it.
