What a glorious find! So much delicious healthy food to choose from. Travelling through we stopped for a takeaway coffee (that 's all we intended) walked out with morning tea, lunch afternoon tea as we had a long drive ahead of us. And it all tasted great! It is popular so had to wait awhile for service. This place is on our 'return ' list. View all feedback.
What Maurizio Sartori doesn't like about Village Bakery Cafe:
HiThis morning I popped in for a coffee and ordered 6 slices of toast for my family's breakfast. Bill came to $18.95. I assume my small coffee came to $4 or so, meaning each slice of thin toast I was charged $2.50 for. For a bakery that produces a large volume of bread, it is pure daylight robbery, given the slices were very thin and sparsely spread with cheap jam. Found the Village Bakery by accident. It is close to the Train Station and away from the parking problems of the Main Street. This was a pleasant place for lunch - clean, spacious and good selection of light food. We had 5 kids and there was no trouble all sitting together. The Pies were good as was the coffee. Easy parking.
I love country towns and bakeries. At Village Bakery I ordered a few bits from the sweets range and 2 pies. I absolutely loved the pies- they were delicious and fresh.
Bakery is located on Darling Street, just around the corner (walking distance) from the railway station. Big bakery with lots of seating inside. They have a large selection of hot and cold food, sub sandwiches, meat pies and cakes. We were on our way back to Sydney by train and we ordered some cakes and a large salad sub (to cut in half) and eat on the train on the way back. Ended up eating there twice. Very fresh and tasty food. Bakery gets very busy.
This is a must stop if your hungry in dubbo. I have been a couple of times on my way through town and found it excellent.
