Contribute FeedbackA neighborhood restaurant in Portobello, I Monelli offers a mixed dining experience according to recent reviews. Some diners were disappointed by subpar food quality and pricey set menus for children. However, others praised the attentive staff, delicious food, and cozy ambiance. Issues such as requests not being accommodated, long waits, and additional charges for birthday desserts were also mentioned. Despite the mixed reviews, the restaurant's prime location beside the canal was highlighted as a definite plus. Overall, while some were left unimpressed, others enjoyed a delightful meal with excellent service, making I Monelli a spot worth considering for a special occasion.
Lovely Father’s Day lunch! Great atmosphere, lovely food- and nice wine all at reasonable price. Will be back again
Great restaurant very authentic Italian food at reasonable price. Restaurant can be a little noisy. Lovely attentive staff.
I Monelli is very atmospheric, and used to be a much better place to dine. On this occasion, the service was chaotic and disorganised, and the dishes, particularly the main courses, sea bass (reluctantly filleted) and chicken in a mushroom cream sauce, were nowhere near the standard you would expect in a Dublin restaurant in its price category. We were hungry but neither of us cleared our plates. Perhaps the experience would have been better if we had stuck to pasta?
Excellent food with very polite attendants. Recommend for those who want to enjoy real Italian cuisine
Lovely authentic food, kindly service, not the warmest temperaturewise perhaps due to ventilation requirements; super as always, chapeau chef
