While the prices may be steep, the menu accommodates food allergies and offers a delightful pre-order option for those with time constraints. The Royal Dar Platter is a popular choice, but branching out to other dishes reveals consistently delicious options. The unexpected find in the Duncan community is praised for its flavorful curries, versatile spice levels, and fantastic value, making it a must-visit spot for Indian cuisine enthusiasts.
We had a fabulous meal, with excellent service. The food is beautifully presented and exquisitely seasoned. The facility is stunningly beautiful. The server knew the menu well and was able to let us know what to expect. We only had an hour and they let us pre-order, so that we had plenty of time to eat, finish with delicious Chai tea, and chat. I believe that the pre-order option is a wonderful addition to the great service. We will definitely come back.
Royal Dar is our place to go for any event. Birthday's and graduations, we have celebrated there. Lots' good food spicy food
We arrived in Duncan at lunch-time during a trip up-island. We always enjoy Indian food so checked out the Royal Dar. The food was really good although I hadn't realised that rice and vegetables were included and also ordered a garlic nan. The nan was light, fluffy and delicious. It was also very good value. I usually look for a buffet lunch but this was far better.
The food and service is excellent!!! The gardens surrounding the restaurant are beautiful! The old victorian house it is in is a beauty! The light fixtures alone are worth the visit! Lovely large out door deck to eat at or inside as you wish. I will be back again and again!
Food is amazing and they are great about food allergies. However the service can be iffy and the price is quite steep. I would recommend going for lunch as it isn't as expensive.
