Blu Seafood & Bar - Durham

I've been here twice in the last week and both experiences have been terrificFirst, the important thingsspecials.

I came here during restaurant week since the menu looked good.

We decided to go here for restaurant week and the menu looked interesting.

The service was excellent, however two out of four of our dishes (two couples) were good the other two were not. The ambience is yard sale decor, very tacky. Noise level is high though the restaurant was not full. Blu Seafood and Bar advertise 1/2 price on selected wines on Wednesdays, so we went on Wednesday only to find that this offer is ended though the website is not update. We did get our bottles for 1/2 price. but the wine selection was so slim it wasn't worth it. I have never seen such a short wine list. I will not return to Blu again.

We’ve enjoyed Blu in the past but this time the experience was only fair. It’s been about 6-9 months or so since we’ve eaten at Blu. The food just did not impress and was so-so. We’ve gone to St James Seafood several times in the past 6-9 months and were very impressed. We’ll give Blu another shot but not sure it can top St James.
