First visit. Brought wife and business partners. Service was attentive and not at all stuffy--very personable in fact. Menu changes seasonally and has enough choices to cover carnivores to vegetarians. Wine list is a little overwhelming at about 700 selections, but sommelier provides excellent insights. A mistake was made with our wine selection (an understandable one), and our table of four was comp'd with both dess... View all feedback.
What OpenTable Diner doesn't like about Piedmont Restaurant:
The Buffalo Brussel sprouts were the best part of the meal. Oh, and they were consumed before the dreadful seasonal tasting menu featuring beats. The chef phoned it in on the second course, which was just a pile of beats on a plate. We partake in many tasting menus, and this one was lack luster in effort and style. The desert course was nearly as bad. The beat cake was dry and the beat cookie crumble had an overly ea... View all feedback.
I brought my lady here for New Year's Eve dinner and it was great! She had the lamb and I had the scallops. Both were made perfect. We shared a potato soup and crispy brussel sprouts that were also great. This is a small place, but the staff is very attentively friendly. We're coming back!
Well prepared meals with great textures and aromas. For the first time I ever ate a zucchini flower. The staff is very professional. Great place to enjoy a beautiful relaxing evening. Nice wine selection.
I didn't eat today. I was greeted with a smile and warm welcome from her host, she engaged in conversation when she sat. Once we hardly had to wait for our server, although it was a bit busy due to his mother's day. Nathan was my server and he was so delightful. He was very attentive and prompt. Had a nice tone and smile. Also very knowledge about the menu. Brad, the bartender expedited our drinks quickly and they were delicious.. when we waited for the meal all the other employees were busy keeping the place clean and tidy. Kenya, a server that took care of a table next to us, was as pleasant and attentive as Nathan. Even when she came by. Meggan, one of the managers, was very accommodating throughout our experience and very helpful for all employees. Our food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time and the presentation of the plates was nicely done. The quality of our Tiramisu French Toast and Pork Hasch were amazing! Nathan came back shortly after a second bite to be sure we were satisfied as well as another manager, Christopher . He was also very energetic and delightful. Overall, I had a great experience, will definitely return. I recommend Piedmont to everyone in the area!!
Always enjoy coming to this restaurant. A great example for the farm to cook to table and stay locally. We had excellent NC oysters on the half dish, summer salad was very nice, how was the pork apron special with peach Chutney, green beans and roast sweets and regular potatoes. Here, too, the craft cocktails are excellent and they even have a local fleet like Conniption. Service was good, though a little slow, as it seems that the only one person, the orders on the ground. Parking should be good all over the street if this is not another event at Durham Central Park.
Modern southern fare that was tasty. We tried shared more of the small plates than main dishes and enjoyed the bites of all of them, especially the crostini salad. Delicious birthday cake for dessert
