Enjoyed dinner very much! The cocktails were well crafted. We had the terrine de Foie Gras, confit of duck in a peppercorn cream sauce and crème brûlée flambéed with Grand Marnier! Every bit of it was superb! Enjoyed the help of the house sommelier with our wine selection. The ambience was wonderful and the service was fantastic! View all feedback.
What AntoineP doesn't like about Le Pois Penché:
The food at this restaurant is delicious, but we had a negative experience with the service. We felt rushed to order and eat quickly, as plates were being cleared from our table while others were still eating. View all feedback.
My husband I were at this restaurant for dinner. My husband ordered bouillabaisse ; I had just ordered a vegetable plate because I already had a snack .The old waiter did not tell me what kind of vegetable to be served that day ....He disappeared after that. Then a younger waiter bought the green bean with almond .I was surprised and disappointed because I had very severe allergic reaction to almond. This waiter was kind to bring me another plate with green bean only . My husband said his food was mediocre ,not good or outstanding as advertising . Meantime we were almost having headache because of the music too loud) and the singer was too close to customers not comfortable and Covid precaution please) . During our dinner no one ever asked how was the food or did we need anything else or bring the dessert menu .We wondered what kind of service was that ? We realized this restaurant was a bar because they only cared of the people to drink : that 's all . Finally the old waiter came back with the bill . My husband was mad and gave him a small tip. We made up our mind that we never came back here.
Very nice atmosphere. Corner of Maisonneuve and Drummond. Paid parking right next door. We had no reservation, but it was early dining, for Montreal, and there was lots of seating. Salad excellent, wine excellent, dessert excellent. A bit disappointed in the main course (filet mignon...burger). Our waiter Dave went out of his way to make this a pleasant evening for all 4 of us Did not have to ask for an English menu, the standard menu has both French and English.. My 3 companions enjoyed their main course. I found the main course menu a bit limited. Spotless restroom and not too loud, live singer wasn't bad either. I always love to have a white tablecloth. Handicap friendly. Labelled as a brassserie, I think it is much better. Would definitely return.
This place is amazing!! The service was top notch. Everyone was very attentive and accommodating. The wine recommendation was spot on. The seafood was fabulous and the crème brûlée a delight.
This restaurant was recommended to us by a couple who've go to Montreal every year. What a great recommendation! We loved the food and the atmosphere and are happy to pay it forward!
We had a wonderful evening and highly recommend this outstanding restaurant. Staff friendly, professional and charming. Food world-class with a lovely atmosphere.
