Fantastic food great appetizers and the service was fast and very efficient. Loved the specials and this is no ordinary Italian restaurant. Don't miss it if you are in EDGARTOWN View all feedback.
What Jackie Feest doesn't like about Isola:
"Old school" steakhouse with minimal frills, so the food has to be shiny! The food was solid, the waitress struggled and our total time in the restaurant was close to 90 minutes - way too slow considering they weren't busy.
Isola is a beautiful foundation in edgartown. if they want authentic Italian with a friendly waiter and a truly unlimited selection of food, then it is the place to go. meatballs were amazing and the sausage with broccoli rave was ridiculously delicious!
Second time in isola and we were not disappointed. very good wine selection and delicious desserts, salads and desserts.
All our food, pastas house made delicious, striped bass and scallop entree excellent, cäsar salat on the grill wonderful
We have been there on a couple of occasions, so the food is not bad and the overall atmosphere is pleasant. I think the one thing that I must say is that the owner/host can be a little abrupt. On one occasion we were having a late dinner, but the place was not closing anytime soon. We were finishing our drinks and talking a little and the owner came over and basically told us we needed to wrap it up. There was still a half filled bar that didn 't appear to be leaving anytime soon, so we felt a little rushed. When we went in the other night the twon was pretty busy with a fishing derby going on. We had made 7 pm reservations but found it difficult to find a parking spot nearby, SO I ended up parking several blocks away. I had dropped off my date at the restaurant because we were already 10 minutes late. She walked in and gave our reservation to him and rather than saying welcome or any other greeting he simply said, You 're late . So it was a little uncomfortable to start with. Overall the food was decent and the Pinot Noir was tasty and fairly reasonable in price.
Isola is one of the few Martha’s Vineyard’s year-round Restaurant so if you reside on island or whatever time you visit, you can count on them offering outstanding cuisine, cocktails, and dessert.
