Stumbled upon this little gem of a restaurant. Vast menu range serving delicious food with generous portions at a very reasonable price all served by friendly family staff. Great atmosphere, was just like being in Italy View all feedback.
What قارس المبيضين doesn't like about The Jolly:
The pizza was a flat frozen kinda affair with some sort of sauce, precious little cheese and burnt at the end. The pasta was basically watered down tomato paste with very little flavor. I’m half Italian and I’m quite sure my grandmother is rolling in her grave at the thought of an Italian restaurant serving what basically amounted to a lean cuisine meal and calling it good. Small Italian restaurant/cafe in the heart of EdinburghThe pizza and pasta were really good and the staff was very friendly.
Do not let the outside fool youInside is a cosy, family friendly, vibrant Italian with outstanding service and amazing portions with great prices.
The decor of The Jolly is very dingy, dated and not very appealing and very cramped.
The staff was really friendly. Having half pizza and pasta is something I always wanted to try and it didn't disappoint! The pizza was cooked beautifully and tasted amazingly. The pasta was beautiful, but there was a tiny bit too much sauce for my pleasure. Still worthy of 5 stars! The prices were very cheap for the bustling City Street. Very recommended.
Simply the best and most authentic pizza in Edinburgh. Together with some of the best service and feel a great welcoming family. Can go wrong with the jolly I would highly recommend.
