Lucy's Restaurant - El Cajon

Lucy 's .. and El Paso icon. Whether it be the original counter across from Cathedral or the newest locations in the far west or the NE, you can expect the signature border food El Paso experience. Never much on decor .. thank goodness .. always about the food and the hospitality. The machaca is always the bomb .. fill with flavor and the special blob of queso that makes everything special. I always .. pick up the menu .. pretend and fool myself into believing I 'll make a new choice .. and then order the Taco 's Antonia as always. This dish was named for it 's creator .. Tia Antonia .. a family member who has her own version of tacos. My brother, visiting from Atlanta tried them and said, ' this is my new definition of what tacos are '. Cooked as you would expect en la plancha .. with a few twists .. especially the repollo garnish on top. You just have to try them for yourself. Best of the best in El Paso! A place where everybody knows your name they're always glad you came. Lucy Lepe, one of the sweetest ladies I have ever known. Her kids carry on the tradition of hospitality great Mexican food!
