El Paraiso - Elgin

The experience was mediocre. The service was abysmal. There was only one other patron in the restaurant, along with three waitresses who appeared to be socializing with the chefs. One of the chefs even gave a massage to one of the wait staff. They were all chatting and having a good time, except for a particularly heavyset waitress who seemed to be focused on her own conversation and laughter. I had to go up to them to place my order for tacos. When I requested a container for my food, I had to approach the waitress again and express my dissatisfaction with the service. She apologized, but it was evident that they were too preoccupied with their own conversations and activities. As I was settling my bill, the waitress had to call over another staff member to handle my payment, which felt unprofessional. I left a minimal tip as it felt appropriate considering the poor service, but I do not plan on returning to this establishment.

I had carne asada for lunch and enjoyed my meal. The service was quick and the food was delicious.

The steak tacos we ordered didn't taste fresh. There was an excessive amount of cilantro on the tacos and the meat portion was small. The prices are higher compared to the quality of the food.

I've only had their tacos at 2am in the morning like the rest of Elgin, which are always juicy and flavorful. No resturant north or west of this location has proven to be better. Many take for granted how good El Paraiso is and only regret not having it more once they move out of Elgin.

????my girl is Mexican and they charge her less tax than when I go buy food and I'm black. It's only a extra dollar every time but I also noticed the customer service when I went thru the drive thru. The lady was picking her nose then tried to give me my change so I told her to keep it and I went along my way. I definitely would refer anyone to go across st to El faro instead of these guys. The steak was chewy and tasted like it was made hrs ago. Everything was sloppy I am not satisfied at all and maybe it's because I'm blk because seems like all the migos are satisfied
