Old Wellers now Fondata 1872 we arrived we were greeted at the door which was nice inside renovations looked great they had a open fire and it was cosy and inviting The food was nice but not a lot of it which is disappointing we had to order sides, wine was expensive even by the glass $14.00 which made our luncheon experience a very expensive one $300 (four people) View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Fondata 1872:
We are locals in Kangaroo Ground and are happy that this place opened up again after many years of enjoying Wellers. Nice outlook, friendly staff but very ordinary food for the money. Limited menu as well - my food was not hot at all. We hope for improvement. There was a lot of hype with the opening of this "upmarket" country restaurant but at this stage it does not live up to it! This Restaurant is a little gem I found at Kangaroo Ground. The views are spectacular from the Restaurant. The staff are professional, Friendly and Efficient as for the food it was very well presented and extremely tasty local produce , the menu has a wide variety of selections Highly recommend this for couples , family or even special event
Had my 40th birthday there in the function room and staff were fantastic and food was incredible. Followed it up with a lunch with some friends and it was even better. Staff were very attentive and restaurant atmosphere great. Had a mixed selection of entrees all fabulous and my fish and gnocchi were to die for!
Warm and inviting atmosphere and staff, with groovy tunes to suit! Menu options were boasting seasonal flavours. I highly recommend ordering food that you share with everyone you dine with. Try everything, but I think the gnocchi and swordfish were a cut above the rest. Prepare your second stomach, because I wouldn 't dare leave without trying something on the dessert menu. The tiramisu was spectacular! Staff were very attentive and friendly. To Drink: For the ladies go the Italian Prosecco and gentlemen try the signature brew '1872 ' beer. Very impressed with the revamp of the venue.
Have looked forward to having a meal at Fondata for some time. Very impressive renovations and staff most welcoming. My friend and I had a coffee first and then we moved to the dining area. Our waitress was most attentive, explained the menu. Warmed bread arrived with olive oil and sea salt. We by passed entrée and went to mains which we both chose fish(snapper), with a light sauce on a bed of green beans, side's we chose were fry's and a tomato and basil salad with a glass of Prosecco. We didn't order dessert but a coffee to finish of with. We both enjoyed the meal and ambience of Fondata and would certainly be back for another visit.
It was our second visit to Fondata and we were thoroughly impressed from start to finish. It was lovely to be seated near the fire, and all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The food was outstanding- the roast chicken was absolutely divine, and my companions raved about the gnocchi, the swordfish, and the steak. Everything we are was really beautifully cooked and well presented. Desserts were scrumptious- it's the best creme brûlée I've ever had. Thankyou for such a wonderful evening. We are looking forward to our next visit already. Affordable pub type prices, but with high quality food, great service, and a lovely ambience. Well done Fondata!
