I recently had a date night with my husband here. It was an impromptu decision but the staff could not have been more welcoming. Everything was covid compliant and we felt very comfortable. The food was delicious, a real treat after having dinner at home for over a year!! Service was impeccable. I would definitely recommend to a friend and will return! View all feedback.
What Viv L doesn't like about Rowan Tree Cafe:
Very poor attitude from the manager on duty today, very unprofessional and rude to someone who's total bill came to 85 Euros . Meal deffinatly not worth its price. Used to be a loveley spot few years ago. Would not recommend, had fish and chips for main course fish tasted defrosted and plain. Although manager/supervisor insisted it was fresh this morning perhaps freshly caught for us from the river Fergus located out... View all feedback.
I came across this restaurant in the Rick Steves' guidebook and decided to try it after seeing positive reviews from other Yelp users. The menu offers a variety of options ranging from salads and soup to pizza and pasta. We tried the Super Food salad, which was delicious with a combination of butternut squash, beets, pomegranate, tomato, and pine nuts. The pizza was decent, with good flavor. The dessert options looked tempting and they have a wide selection of wines. The beer selection is limited to bottles and cans, including Guinness, Bulmers, Tiger, and O'Hara's craft brewery. The service was good and the view of the river outside the window was lovely. If I find myself back in Ennis, I would definitely return to this restaurant.
I came here every family celebration. I tried today again. Very very unhappy. A new very poor menu. No choice, very bad service. Very disappointed. Don't try this restaurant. Don't waist your time and your money.
What an incredible find! Despite our tardiness, Connor graciously seated us at the Rowan Tree. We were actually relieved that we couldn't secure reservations at our initial choices, as the food here surpassed our expectations. The pasta dishes were outstanding, with one featuring a subtle hint of spice alongside tender sirloin steak, and the other showcasing a delectable combination of duck and cheese-filled tortellini, topped with a generous amount of shaved Parmesan. For dessert, we indulged in a scrumptious banoffee pie paired with a cafe con leche. The atmosphere was enhanced by beautiful original paintings and ample space between tables. I am already looking forward to returning to this gem in Ennis, and will make it a point to dine here every night if given the chance. Thank you, Conor, for a memorable dining experience!
Quite possibly one of the best hostels I have even been in, and one of the nicest places to eat in Ennis. They recently remodeled the entire place and it is simply amazing. The café has a very good menu with something for everyone. Prices are not bad at all, and they also have high chairs so if you have a small child, like I do, you are in luck. During the summer you can't beat sitting outside quite literally right next to the river having a nice lunch with a few pints.
The best thing about this place was sitting outside along the river. Cappuccino was ok. Service was ok as well.
