This is a typical hiker's restaurant of a more or less rustic style. The food is down-to-earth Swiss style but rather hearty and tasty. The price is reasonable. They are opened 365 days in a year, run by a friendly Swiss couple who do everything themselves, so there is family touch to the service. They have also home-made desserts. What Gabriela Gubser doesn't like about Farneralp:
The food would be good, nice view. However, there is a lack of service and responsiveness to the guests. So when we consumed CHF 40 we had to pay for an additional fork. Petty and unfortunate! Very bad advertising for Swiss hospitality. Luckily there are still alpine inns in the hiking area that are happy to pamper their guests, which we will be happy to do. View all feedback.
My cheese salad with various fine salads was great. My hiking colleague's hamburger was very fibrous and not worth at least the price of 26.80.
