I've gone here a few times now for brunch, drinks and snacks and dinner. Personally I think their dinner is their best time. The menu items come with so many amazing flavours and showcase a lot of creativity. Their brunch is good but I wish they had the same kind of creativity that the dinner menu has instead of playing it safe with standard brunch options. Definitely go for dinner! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Goodlake:
We enjoyed the warm and cozy atmosphere at this neighbourhood restaurant but I thought that the prices didn't reflect what was served. For example, a few slices of cold bread that's barely enough for the table doesn't seem sufficient when the entrees range upward in price from $24 and $29. And unfortunately the potato gratin was icy cold underneath my chicken ( which was nicely browned and braised in ale) and portion... View all feedback.
This evening was supposed to be an amazing birthday celebration. Arrived at 7:30, had an appetizer and then they forgot about us. Munched on three measly pieces of bread that had been rationed (so thin).Reminded the server we ordered 45 minutes before, she apologised, went to the back, and then said there was a miscommunication in the kitchen. Came back 15 minutes later with dinner and, out of the three plates, 2 of them had HAIR in them. Yes, after an hour of waiting for the main, we get hair in 2/3's of our food. Not only that, but instead of not charging us for dinner, they charged us for the "fries" and the half-imbibed bottle of wine. After asking for the manager, was advised he was in the back but couldn't come out because he had STREP THROAT...in a RESTAURANT. Didn't ask if we wanted to leave a number to have him contact us. Paid for the wine and bolted it out of there. Don't know what happened to that place - it used to be so wonderful :(
They've opened a few years ago - owned by a local couple. And ver since then, they've been getting better and better, fine-tuning the menu and the pricing as they go. I recently brought colleagues there for a xmas dinner and all were pleasantly impressed by the quality, presentation, and deliciousness of the food.Make a reservation - they're often full!

Ended up supping in this eatery for no good reason besides "we were there, it was there". (planned to return to a Thai restaurant that was previously at this location)Fortunately we beat the main dinner crowd and were able to get a table with no rez. (but make a reservation to be safe)The place is skewed towards the upscale side of things which does work for them. The Mimico / Lakeshore area is becoming populated with an increasing number of residents that pursue finer dining options than the nearby Kebab Hut or Pizza Pizza. (albeit both fine places if that's your mood)A varied enough menu for both drink & food to probably accommodate most patrons.Between our chicken, duck and salmon orders, all plates were thoroughly cleaned off, soliciting comments of, "boy, that was really good".A thumbs-up to them for serving local-made beers and I'd bet a lot of food product comes from not-too-far-away as well. The only downside may be the speed of service, but it does make for a more leisurely meal experience, so that's a minor matter. However, overall it rates a well deserved Recommended and kudos to Chef Doug.
The food looks and tastes amazing, the staff were very friendly, the menu has gluten free options (which was important to one of our party) and the kitchen staff were happy to accommodate. The decor and ambiance of the place are great. I really enjoyed my meal here.
