Contribute FeedbackWaraku is a new addition in the Burke/Fairfax area, offering a variety of sushi and Japanese/Thai options, with accommodating staff. While some patrons have had bad experiences, there are positive reviews praising the fresh and delicious sushi options, especially the salmon avocado eel rolls. With affordable prices and great dishes like steak teriyaki, Waraku seems to be a hit among sushi lovers and families. Although there have been mixed experiences, the restaurant's specialty rolls and friendly service earn it a recommendation for those seeking quality sushi in the area.
We used to really love this place but have had a number of bad orders lately. The last order was missing a sauce, missing pieces of sushi roll, missing a fried rice, and one sushi roll had fish so terrible, it had to be tossed out. I hope they improve but don't think we will be back after such a disappointment.
I visited this restaurant because they stay open late. Unfortunately, the calamari was burnt and we couldn't eat it, which was very disappointing. The coconut shrimp was decent, and the takoyaki with red sauce was good. This was my second visit here, but I won't be returning. I do not recommend this place. Despite the food issues, we didn't complain because it was late at night and the waitress was pleasant.
I love Waraku! It is hands down my favorite sushi place in the area. The variety and creativity of the menu is so fun and all the specialty rolls are ridiculously good (and huge). And if you give them your email or order online they'll send you coupons sometimes! If you go here, try some of the specialty rolls like the Romantic Date or the Brown Tiger.
They have really good food. My wife orders from here at least once a week. Her favorite is steak teriyaki and the fried rice is easily the best in the area. Highly recommend.
The sushi was acceptable. There was a limited selection of cold sake. The service was good and efficient.
