Das Wirtshaus - Frankfurt am Main

Most terrible meal experience ever! This is how Das Wirtshaus treated foreign customers: 1.Give you English menu which is slightly different from German menu (for example “and” in English while “oder” in German) and take advantage of it later.2.Give you what you did not order.(see picture “Sausage” seriously?)3.Make up a best story that this dish is exactly what you ordered.4.Charge you 4e for the cabbage and another 4e for potatoes while these are (and should be) included in the menu.5.Refuse to apologize (if a hollow “sorry” does count) or compensate for his intentional mistakes and alleges that it’s your fault not asking about these ridiculous nowhere-on-menu extra fee.6.Refuse to explain and literally push you out.7.Give you the finger.

We were a group of Thai looking for real local dining experience and was suggested by a friend to check out Das Wirtshaus. Thumb up!

Das Wirtshaus musste zum Ende Februar 2016 leider schließen, da der Mietvertrag auslief und wie fast überall momentan in Frankfurt die neuen Mieten so drastisch erhöht wurden, dass sich die Fortführung der Traditionsgaststätte nicht mehr gelohnt hätte.Ein paar Monate zuvor hatten ja bereits nebenan aus gleichem Grund sowohl die 'Nordsee' Filiale als auch der 'Wiener Feinbäcker' die Segel gestrichen.Als neue Mieter darf sich der hungrige Passant an Wellnessgeschäften, Apotheken und anderen Edelgeschäften erfreuen, also statt Schnitzel und Bier auf der 'Fressgass' sind jetzt Appetitzügler aus der Apotheke angesagt.Schade und die hiermit die besten Wünsche an die ehemaligen Wirte Marion und Wölfi aus dem Wirtshaus.

A localização do restaurante é excelente, fica em uma das principais avenidas de compras de Frankfurt e numa área cheia de restaurantes e barzinhos.Escolhemos para jantar nesse pela fachada mesmo, e quando entramos vimos muitas pessoas pedindo um prato típico do restaurante cheio de linguiças e salsichas, batatas e pedaços de carne. Mas como sou vegetariana acabei pedindo uma das únicas coisas vegetarianas do cardápio que era uma sopa de batatas, mas que estava meio rala e com um tempero diferente. Apesar do meu pedido de comida, tomei um chopp que estava delicioso.

Excellent food, friendly stuff, we loved this place. We had the opportunity to be there for three times in our last trip. Closing on February 28th so take care to visit this place whether you are one of their fans or visitor in town,
