Very friendly professional service. The dinner was plentiful and tasty. We both had two different versions of schnitzel spaetzle. The schnitzel was wonderful cooked (pan fried), the spaetzle could have done with a little less oil, but was tasty never the less. Thank Suzi for your professional service. Watching you work the tables and interacting with all the guests in a timely and friendly manner was a pleasure. Folk... View all feedback.
What Lucky dube doesn't like about Maple Leaf Restaurant:
Enroute during the long journey we read the menu online and picked out our favourites. The menu options offered many choices for my wife who has several diet restrictions. Both were very much looking forward to the meal. I believe we maybe expected too much from the dated reviews. The waitress was excellent. She worked quickly to get our order, deliver the meals and the bill. The food and serving size was just averag... View all feedback.
Located 5 mins away from city cruise so naturally we came here after the tour. It's a self seat process so just grab whatever seat. We knew what we wanted but service was a bit slow. We tried perogies and they were good but at $15, not super worth it. Onto the mains, I found the Rahm Schnitzel to be very bland. The cream sauce and the spaetzl to be bland. Think of hospital food. It was like that lol. Beef goulash was definitely more flavourful and beef was very tender. Overall it was an okay experience. Personally would suggest other places to try!
The food was OK, but not worth the price in my opinion. I ordered a gourmet burger and my wife ordered a Jr Schnitzel ... our attempt to keep the price down... still was $40. $20 is a bit much for that burger...and $20 is a bit much for my wife 's Jr portion. I feel my burger was a bit dry. My wife 's schnitzel was a bit overdone as well (dry). There was nothing spectacular about the ambiance or service that would make justify higher prices. We had stopped there as a late celebration of our anniversary and the layout does not lend it self to an atmosphere for a couple having an intimate time as tables seem crowded towards each other.
In a visit to Gananoque, I had the pleasure to find this restaurant and have a meal there. I ordered a salmon that was delicious and the portions are good. My husband had the beef with roast potatoes and he loved it! Cooked to perfection. The ambiance is cozy and simple. The service was friendly and super fast. I would definitely come back to try the schnitzels that is their specialty.
So we went on a boat trip, a group of thirteen people. Some of us from USA and rest are from Toronto. Food quality is poor comparatively to what they promote. One of us had different opinion about what he ordered, regardless of right or wrong the way the staff handled the situation was very bad. There were one or two tables occupied when we went inside. Seems like it's a owner operated restaurant, owner/manager was the cook who prepared our food . This place needs a lot more attention to food , taste, and customer service.
Nice place, open late, food acceptable but not delicious, table was dirty and sticky Nice place, open late, food acceptable but not delicious, table was dirty and sticky
