Contribute FeedbackHotel du Vin in Glasgow provides a dining experience that has received mixed reviews from patrons. While some have praised it for its lovely surroundings, comfortable bar, excellent food, extensive wine selection, and attentive staff, others have criticized it for falling short due to inconsistent service, lack of professionalism, uninspired cuisine, high prices, and pretentious menu descriptions. The restaurant's Victorian grandeur and high-end quality food have impressed some guests, while others have found better value elsewhere in Glasgow. Despite varying opinions, Hotel du Vin seems to cater well to special occasions and offers a tasting menu that has been described as outstanding. Overall, it appears to be a popular choice for those looking for a fine dining experience in the West End of Glasgow.
HAD A GOOD NIGHT FOOD WELL COOKED STAFF VERY ATTENTIVE WOULD CERTAINLY GO BACK.ON THE DOWN SIDE THEY DID NOT HAVE A BOOKING FOR US CAN YOU PLEASE LOOK AT THAT
Doesn't quite attract the attention of other Glasgow restaurants but in my opinion this is up there with the best. Having said that they had no notification of our open table reservation, so best to check directly with the restaurant,
Flawless! No grumbles at all, no matter how pedantic I can be. Lovely surroundings, roomy restaurant don't let the word Bistro put you off. Very comfy bar, staff were lovely, food was close to perfect, wines and ports great the cheese trolley is a real cracker!! No pun, honest... Cannot wait to go again, highly recommended
Used the 25pc discount offer on 31 July making it good value. Food was really good and great wine list. Service could have been a bit quicker later in the evening and got one starter wrong but didn't mind too much as was good. Had a slightly annoying couple next to us but can't blame restaurant for that. Overall great food and would recommend.
Hotel du Vin Bistro, Glasgow is a polished restaurant, based within a number of ex Georgian Townhouses . The dining rooms are small, intimate, well furnished with floor to ceiling, bay windows. In general a warm, welcoming place to eat. The lack of nibbles , whilst studying the Menu and extensive Wine List, was perhaps an oversight. However, the fact, the starter arrived, before the chilled bottle of Chablis, which had been specified for drinking with the starter, is not what we expect.
