Nestled just metres from the beach, we stopped here for a refreshment and found ourselves in love with it, you can sit down and enjoy your drink or light meal, whilst watching your kids play only metres away in the sand and take in the views of the water all at the same time. I highly recommend the frappe it honestly took me back to greece, sitting by the beach & enjoying it. Have been plenty of times, great people,... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Point Ormond Cafe:
Ordered a chicken, avocado and lettuce wrap. Firstly they toasted the wrap meaning I received cooked lettuce!! It had way too much mayonnaise in and there was not one piece of avocado in it, it seemed to have been replaced with little pieces of tomato! Such a simple wrap, and so horrible! I expect this place is ok for a coffee or ice cream though View all feedback.
After my swim, I was craving some food and eagerly anticipated enjoying some flake and chips under the large cafe umbrellas. The flake was tasty, although it could have been a bit crispier, and the chips hit the spot, though they could have been a bit crunchier. The cafe was bustling with crowds who couldn't resist the allure. I also indulged in a soft drink, which topped off the meal perfectly. Later, I couldn't resist going back for their famous iced coffee frappe, which transported me to the European continent in an instant. I highly recommend Point Ormond Cafe for its great atmosphere, friendly and warm staff, despite being very busy. After another swim, I found myself returning for an ice cream - I just couldn't stay away. Whether you're in the area or not, this cafe is definitely worth a visit. The coffee is excellent, and while the menu may not be extensive, the stunning views and beachside vibe more than make up for it.
We are very particular about our coffee and we absolutely love the coffee at this restaurant. The view overlooking the bay is exceptional. The staff is friendly and welcoming. This is our go-to spot on a beautiful day.
This is a great place to take a stroll and enjoy a cup of coffee! My friends and I were all impressed by the quality of our coffees. We will definitely revisit in the future.
Friendly people hot food standard take away great view. Great hot chips and focacias and an excellent chicken schnitzel burger. Beach side eating without the sand!
Good location, bog standard ice cream. I give a thumb 's up vote to this kiosk because of where it is right on the beach. I was parched after a pushbike ride from Fed Square to Mordialloc and back on a 39 degree day. (If you think I 'm crazy for doing that, you should think about the rest of the group I started with, who did the ride as a sprint and didn 't even stop for water until they reached Mordy. I said 'Screw that, I 'm here for the scenery, not the cardio ' and bailed on the return race. <br/ <br/ Anyway, this is the perfect location for a beach snack bar. They serve coffee and fried stuff, but for me it was ice cream all the way. I had a two scooper of English Toffee and Caffe. Except for the almonds in the toffee (but no toffee bits I could hardly tell the two flavours apart. They sere Peter 's Ice Cream, which seems to have locked up all the business at the beach kiosks up and down Port Phillip Bay. Peter 's is definitely mass market. It 's too soft and airy for the day I was eating it, because it started melting before I could whip out my camera.<br/ <br/ But hey! It was a sunny day and I was eating ice cream on the seashore it doesn 't get much better than that.
