Arigatou Sushi Teppanyaki - Gold Coast

After a day of enjoying the parks, my family of 6 booked a Groupon deal for dinner at this restaurant. We arrived at the Australia Fair shopping center around 4:30pm and easily found the restaurant. Despite our booking being for 5:30pm, we were seated promptly at 5:15pm, which was a nice surprise. The staff was friendly and helped us combine two tables for our family. We ordered a variety of main dishes such as salmon, soft shell crab, and prawns with rice, as well as some sashimi and sushi. The portions and quality were decent, but not the best I've had. The restaurant was quiet with a few customers, and it seemed that the front girl was overwhelmed handling everything on her own. Our utensils were brought to us slowly as a result of being understaffed. There was a sushi train behind us, but we didn't try it. Overall, the restaurant offers takeaway options as well. I recommend giving it a try if you enjoy sushi, but the decor and cleanliness could use some improvement. With a little upgrade, I believe more customers would be drawn to this place. We have been regular customers at this coastal restaurant for at least 15 years as locals. The former owners were fantastic - always friendly, happy, and kept the place clean. However, the current staff seems uninterested in serving customers and lacks manners. The sushi is made in bulk and left out on the counter, with meat not being properly refrigerated. The floors are so dirty that your feet stick to them, and tables are not cleaned between customers. I even asked the assistant to mop the floor because of how dirty it was, but they did nothing. I have tried to speak to the manager multiple times but have been denied each time. It's disappointing because this used to be a place my family loved to visit. Now, it's so dirty and unclean that I can't believe they are still in business. The improper storage of meat is concerning and I can't imagine what their kitchen looks like. They need to be shut down.

We ordered the chicken karaage, Tempura prawns and Teriyaki beef. The food was fresh and taste really good. Service was poor and ambience is more like a food court. Prices are reasonable.

One of the best ive been to and the best in the gold coast lost to try and very fresh and will have every thing you like so go and try

Best sushi I've had in a while I had about 8 plates and I loved it was absoutley gorgeous service was Amazing and the restaurant was buddy but the sushi train just kept comming I was so happy deffintly worth the price will be back next time I travel to qld
