This area is extremely busy on the weekends so I thought it would be ideal to visit on a Friday for lunch. The place was moderately busy but there was no wait. Front and free parking or 1 block away free parking is also available. Nice establishment, good music and the tables were cleaned and tended to quickly. Service is friendly and efficient (John was our waiter). Food was good too. Shrimp chips platter came with... View all feedback.
What Rylan Hamill doesn't like about Big Fish Seafood Grill:
This was probably one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. The oysters were huge, slimy, bland, and lacking any spiciness, while the crab cakes were lacking in texture. We left most of our food uneaten on the plates, and when we complained to the waiter about the oysters, she simply apologized with no further action taken. There was no offer to replace the dish or speak to a manager. Needless to s... View all feedback.
We had lunch here on a Sunday because they don't take reservations and we didn't have time to wait on Saturday night (huge line, come early We showed up just after 11am to beat the crowd for lunch and there was a sign on the door saying they were running behind and would not open until 11:30. That was a little disappointing.... But we waited and once we were seated the service was good and the food had great taste. I would have rated 4 but the late opening was a disappointment.
We visited for lunch on a Thursday and it was pretty busy. We had to leave our stroller at the front since we were sat in an area accessible by a couple of stair steps. There is very limited parking so we had to park a couple blocks over and walk. They do not have smoking inside like some of the other restaurants in the area. The service was prompt and courteous. We ordered the Fried Calamari but it ended up arriving after the meal arrived but it was still very tasty and well cooked. I got the Fish and Chips which was delicious! My partner got the combination dinner of catfish and shrimp, they were out of Oysters which was an option to add. I had a non-alcoholic Heineken and it was a bit on the warm side, even with the cold glass, it didn't really help much. Overall we had a good experience and the food was very tasty. Would definitely try it out again.
Very good seafood. they are reasonably expensive. very friendly staff! love this local connection. the chowder was brilliant and the garnels were fresh. definitiw a little moment worth!
We wanted to dinner, hours to 20 hours, but refused to sit at 615. hostess said to me to stop sitting at 630 .. ok well, it's only 615! refused to sit us! and again the opening times are up to 20 o'clock! this is a great deal! and she also confirmed that the manager in the service refused to sit down! who denies the hell the shops .. the owners should be more involved! I sit in the business myself until the conclusion
Sadly all three things we ordered were terrible. One of the items we actually returned. That was a shrimp cocktail. My girlfriend asked me if I wanted to try it, after about a minute trying to find a piece of shrimp in the shrimp cocktail I called the waitress over and informed her there's no shrimp in the shrimp cocktail. I obviously returned it. We both decide on the soups she ordered a clam chowder which she typically loves and said it was not very good. I ordered the gumbo and the description on the menu it's exactly the way I like it, unfortunately it was also not very good. Even the bread I requested was dry and small so not even some decent bread to go along with the meal. All in all just a huge disappointment and the main reason I'm writing this review is not trying to hurt the ownership of this cute little restaurant but to save the tourist the same terrible experience we had. This was our experience on the three things we ordered maybe there are other dishes that are much better I would like to think all additional dishes would be better.
