Their prices have gone up astronomically, but I guess so has everyone else. We ordered togo for Mother's Day what would have been 27.00 the last we ate there, was now 41.00 I ordered 2 meals cheese dip. The menus online anywhere you search are very outdated obviously the wrong price, but I honestly was shocked at just how much the price increase was. Didn't stop me from ordering again. I ordered a Togo order of chees... View all feedback.
What Myrna Will doesn't like about San Luis Mexican Restaurant III:
I wanted to go somewhere I hadn't been before, so I decided to give this place a try. When I first sat down I was met with surprise as the bench I was sitting on felt as though it was broken underneath. Nonetheless, I repositioned myself and settled in. The menu is quite large with a lot of different things including seafood. They immediately brought out chips and salsa, and I ordered a margarita. They brought it out... View all feedback.
Before I start I 'm just going to say this place is amazing! You can stop there if you want, just go and enjoy, otherwise, let 's just proceed. Atmosphere is your typical festive Mexican environment so nothing bad there. Service: Everyone is super friendly. Hostess was ultra nice and upon sitting the server hit me with an Hola and tbh, I don 't think anyone has done that to me at a Mexican restaurant around here. I was presented with the chips and salsa and when I came back from there was also a container of Guacamole puree with some heat and spices in a bottle. I sampled it and wow! So good! I ate half of the the bottle with my chips and tortillas throughout the meal. I ordered my go to, the choripollo. Rice and beans were on point. Exactly how they should be. Moist and flavorful rice and beans had a great flavor and wasn 't flat at all. Chicken had a great marinade and of course being covered with the perfectly seasoned chorizo and cheese sauce. They aren 't relying in the sauce ontop to flavor the chicken like others do. Amazing flavor and couldn 't be happier 5/5 all day, everyday! Even though this is my second Mexican restaurant in High point I hage visited to review I will be HARD PRESSED to go elsewhere in HP so I can keep reviewing. I 'm literally writing this review while eating at a Mexican restaurant in Clemmons eating ok food (review coming) and finding myself closing my eyes and wishing I was back at San Luis eating.
Over charging and give you the wrong food. Just go to the ones in Greensboro
Each Mexican restaurant has its own style. This restaurant has great service. Prompt and friendly. The food was in generous portions, but wasn't quite extraordinary. I would go again and try different menu items until I found a favorite item.
I ordered to go.. I was told it was a 15 min wait but it took just a little bit longer. Which is Definitely okay because I heard they were short staffed and things happen. We're only human but I just wouldn't recommend ordering tacos (shrimp tacos) even with the toppings on the side because it was even falling apart with the corn tortillas getting so soggy. The flavor is there but it just didn't hold up well which is overwhelming.
This is my lady and I's go to place to eat Tex Mex food. Their margaritas are also nice and they like to have a little extra Tequila in their pours which most places are very frugal with. Give the street tacos (Al Pastor style) and the tamales a go. You can't go wrong with either of those dishes.
