Honest, earnest, proper northeastern Chinese food. The waitress was friendly and attentive, dishes roared off the wok and were with us fresh and hot. Nice subtle heat with the spicing and shout out especially to black fungus with white cabbage, aubergine and fried tripe. Will be coming back : View all feedback.
What mbarara doesn't like about Sanbao Chinese Kitchen:
I Felt like eating some thing elite so I ended up in this Chinese joint ordered a Tom yum kung SOUP which more like a Veggie soup I ordered Chinese veges and a Coke. As I didn't have my glasses I depended on the waiter the female WAITER did not know a word of English she brought the male waiter who just about could speak English Between the 2 dishes and service charge with out me knowing I left a decent Tip. Good food and tasty, enjoyed all food we ordered vegetarian options, tiny nice décor give bit of local Chinese feel with bamboos
Food ok..staff rude and took forever to take the order for drinks and food. No service whatsoever, had to keep asking the waiter which was the boss.
Looking for a Chinese, I ended up in a basic looking joint called Sanbao Chinese Kitchen, where staff were friendly enough, if not exactly providing silver service. The guy who served me was perplexed when I asked for a glass of wine it isn't included in the lunch menu, you see, whereas I could have had a free soft drink. But I could see the bottle, and I fancied one! (And yes, he mistook what I said and initially poured me a glass of red. He then repaired to the side, where he tuned into some football match on his laptop the commentary mixing with the commentary from two separate Chinese programmes, showing on the two tvs on the wall. The rest of the work was left to the young lady who'd just arrived a very personable young lady too, although the sole other customer asked for salt, then had to show her where it was on the stand. I think he was a regular! Mind wasn't too long in coming but on the basis of it, I won't be back. The prawn crackers were tasteless. Before I'd finished them, the beef szechuan appeared at least this was tasty, although I didn't have a choice of rice, it had to be plain boiled. Which was served on the same plate. Just as well, considering how little szechuan there was.. and I've had better beef, too. No, Hammersmith is not the place for Chinese, it seems!
Googled 'Chinese restaurant ' without much hope after seeing a show, my niece and I fancied Chinese food but did not hold any hope of finding much around Hammersmith. Went to Sanbao more in hope than expectation but what a meal! Had pigs trotters, and pig 's intestines with king prawns and some dumplings and pak choi and a decent bottle of wine. Really lovely place and lovely food and will be visiting again. Thank you Sanbao for making our evening, a Chinese restaurant not infested by 'Chinglesh ' food and with Chinese customers but we were made welcome.
This is a mediocre place. The food was so and so- my squid was over fried and as for any vegetables, it came with only onions. I had to ask for soya sauce and even a napkin which was not given. The waitress doesn’t understand English so ordering took some time. The toilet hadn’t been flushed or cleaned- nasty surprise. The interior is garish
