this Chinese restaurant has been operating in sydney chinatown since 1975! before I was on this planet. I can see why the partitur is low. it is probably due to communication. eating is authentic, good, and the owner still works very hard. I'm pretty sure she has some great kids and that's inspiring. I've been trying to tear and dimm-sim. fried reis was good and the taste of Dim-Sim brought me to the streets of china... View all feedback.
What Sabina Herzog doesn't like about New Tai Yuen:
The worst food I have ever had in Sydney. While strolling through Chinatown, we stumbled upon this place and considering the place has existed since 1975 (as they claim) we thought of giving it a try. A disaster. All that the staff cares about is getting the guests in. Post that they don't give a dime. The set menu that has a fried dim sim, spring roll, boiled rice (a small bowl) and a main (I chose chicken in black b... View all feedback.
Had the banquet here for $18 each and the food was pretty good. Only downside was that we ordered fried rice each, costing us an extra $2 per person but they ended up only giving us one plate of rice which wasn't enough. Anyway, service wasn't bad and the food came out pretty quick. Located in Chinatown along the main strip where all the restaurants are competing against each other so it's pretty easy to get to.
Amazing Service. My father had his Birthday here last night, not only was the food delicious but the staff were simply so helpful and friendly, happily helping me organise a surprise for him going above and beyond for our dinner. <br/ <br/ Would recommend this restaurant to anyone. <br/ <br/ Thankyou again!!
Had dinner at this restuarant on the 14th September 2013 with my husband, we ordered a Prawn cutlets and Chrispy chicken with pancakes Pekimg style for our entree, and for the main we had sweet sour pork, billiki chicken and mixed stir fry vegetables. I didnt 't expect much from this restaurant at first but I was VERY IMPRESSED by the freshness and the quality of the prawns and chicken it was so tender. I 've been to many chinese restuarants and sweet and sour pork is one of my favourite dishes, I must say that the sauce was the best I had in a very long time.<br/ <br/ Although the restaurant was abit busy and there was minimum staffs on the floor, they were all very efficient and friendly, I would to make a shout out to the waiter name Alex (one with bow tie) he had the BEST SERVICE and was also smiling unlike other chinese restaurants waiter ' 's in chinatown who seem like they ate a sour lolly at all time. <br/ <br/ During dinner I decided to have a read through the reviews and noticed that there are some negative feedbacks, I asked the friendly lady at the counter and was advised that they only recently brought over the business at the start of September 2013 therefore the restaurant is under New Management as the previous owner had retired. <br/ I would definitely return to this restaurant and it 's quite rare where you find a chinese restaurant who 's treats you with courtesy.
Excellent food and service. We went here twice on our trip. The food was amazing, the beef and blackbean was the best I have had.You couldn't fault the service at all. They cannot do enough to help you.We will definitely return when we visit Sydney again
I can remember the glory days. Sadly they are long past. What I do love is coming and eating outside in the street with a simple fixed price meal. Not fine dining but has some of the classics like lemon chicken. <br/ <br/ An institution that should not be lost.
