Wonderful evening celebrating Spanish fire foods, Tokar Wines and Sangria. Quality of food and wine were excellent accompanied with live Spansh guitar playing. Topped off with excellent service and atmosphere. Well done Tokar estate. Anxiously awaiting next event. View all feedback.

On Monday, July 24, we did a private wine tour of the Yarra Valley, from Melbourne. We had instructed our tour guide/driver, that we wanted to do serious wine tastings, as we are serious “winos.” No need to spend time touring cellars, crush pads, etc., but to concentrate on tastings. He was happy to oblige.Lunchtime found us pulling up to the lovely Tokar Estate. I have to admit that I had never heard of it, but then in the USA, we tend only get the very top (read most expensive) wines from Australia, or the “bottom of the barrel” “industrial wines.” Nothing in between. As we found out, on previous trips to Australia, there was so much good, to great wine, that we just never see, and likely never will see, on US soil, and especially in our home state of Arizona.Already that morning, we had done three cellar door tastings, so Tokar was #4, and included Lunch too!We were ushered into the restaurant/tasting room, and after an introduction, set about tasting the wines, as our “seating” was not for another half-hour.Tokar has two “series” of releases, the “value brand,” “Carafe
Sunday family lunch for 6 of us. From the moment we walked in we experienced exceptional service! Wine tasting with Roderick was very enjoyable and he was a professional. Our meals were terrific....we did not need to wait long for our orders to arrive.....this is despite 5 of us ordering medium rare steak which was cooked to perfection! Throughout the afternoon the service by James and our young waitress could not be faulted...they were attentive and professional without being intrusive. The meals were perfect and portions were generous. Although rather expensive, we could not fault the food and service and enjoyed the afternoon immensely!!!
This was my favorite place to go. After my family flying in from the states and bringing them here for our party of eleven to enjoy the day. We couldnt even buy a glass of wine. They told us we had to purchase food and a wine glass to sit down. After asking just for a few bottles of wine and the waitresses looking so confused we left and went to Rochford.
We enjoyed wine tasting and lunch here as part of our Winebus Winery Tour. The service was impeccable, the food exquisite and the wines available for tasting were lovely. Thank you for a great experience.
