Upon arrival there was only one other group inside which made me think its probably not very good. But woah the food was great! Sone of the best indian food ive ever had. The girl who served is was really nice too :) Definately recommend! View all feedback.

We had prebooked this restaurant a week out from arriving in Daylesford. Unfortunately we did not get the chance to eat there as we received a phone call at 3.45pm on the day of our booking to say that they would not be able to accommodate us for dinner due to a private function! Great food, Great atmosphere n great service. One of the best indian in Victoria. If you around must visit this place.
Not sure what has happened here. Change of ownership? Change of Chef?? Perhaps is was just an off night? We attended this restaurant Friday 14 July our 39th Wedding Anniversary. Brought a bottle of our favourite wine, only to be told We are fully licenced . Fair enough, although we book a weekend away in Daylesford a couple of times a year always dine here, and previously was always BYO wine. Upon looking at the pitiful wine list, almost half of which was blacked out with a texter, we opted for beer a quick meal, instead of a relaxed dinner over wine. We ordered seekh kebabs, which were extremely gamey ', so much so that I suspected it was either mutton or goat. The chilli chicken was nice, to be fair, but the beef madras while tender spicy, was in desperate need of salt. The garlic naan lacked salt, butter garlic was thin dry. The two entrees, 2 beers, beef madras, small rice a garlic naan was $85. We won 't be back here, but will instead try the other Indian restaurant just outside of town.
First visit to this restaurant and we are very impressed by the delicious food, very generous portion sizes and great service!
The nicest Indian food we've had in Australia! I got a fish masala and my boyfriend got a chicken tikka masala. Both were unreal! The garlic naan bread was also delicious would recommend and will be returning if I'm ever back in Daylesford.
Booked the Taj for an evening meal whilst visiting Daylesford and pleasantly surprised with overall dining experience. Nice friendly staff, including the able Robot Assistant. We ordered a few entrees and mains. The Spicy Butter Chicken, Prawn Korma, mild Beef Madras and Spicy Beef Vindaloo. The korma was well received but limited in number of prawns in serve. The Madras also enjoyed. The spicy BC was pretty spicy for a BC and a little sweet but again enjoyed. The spicy BV was pretty hot and some may find it a lit bit too much, for two of us it was great no volcano hot but plenty hot enough. Like most Indian restaurants the prices are a little higher than other asian fare but quality was pretty good. Overall nice evening out and would happily return and recommend if you enjoy this cuisine.
