What User doesn't like about Taj Mahal Authentic Indian Restaurant:
We had prebooked this restaurant a week out from arriving in Daylesford. Unfortunately we did not get the chance to eat there as we received a phone call at 3.45pm on the day of our booking to say that they would not be able to accommodate us for dinner due to a private function! Very disappointing that the call was so late in advising us of the private function, which one would assume would have been arranged well b... View all feedback.
We came here on a Friday night and the good was ridiculously delicious. Would definitely be back next time when we're in Daylesford!

When you first approach the venue it look like you are going to someone's house! However inside there are a series of rooms which lend to a more intimate atmosphere. The lighting was very bright and would benefit from "dimming" a little. There was an excellent choice of dishes on the menu and we had no trouble in deciding what we were going to eat. The staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely wonderful, some of the best curry we have tasted and nicely presented too. We would certainly be paying the Taj Mahal a return visit and would happy recommend it to our fellow curry lovers!
This is one of the best indian restaurant in country. Food and service is excellent. We had Veg samosa, tandoori chicken as entree and for main course chicken tikka masala, malai kofta and gobi manchurian with some naan breads everything was superb. Highly recommend.
We like the BYO, the friendly service, the well priced and high quality food here. As locals we enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and casual dining, especially mid week after the weekend rush. This is the traditional hidden gem and you can be out of there at about $40 a couple.
