There's not much left in Nogales that is charming. But La Roca is charm on steroids. It's in a lovely building which houses a dining room and other eating nooks and crannies as you wander through the building back to the bar. After we ate a good (not fabulous) meal, we headed to the patio off the bar to have a another drink while we waited for a thunderstorm to pass. The staff was lovely and thoughtful. When you leav... What User doesn't like about La Roca:
If you are spending the day in Nogales, La Roca is an interesting spot to visit. We had lunch and drinks. The atmosphere is beautiful and stands out in a border town. Complimentary fresh salsa, chips and guacamole are served which are all great, as are the margaritas. The service is average, our entres were not very good. Both had too much liquid on them, and my shrimp entre was oversalted with too much cilantro and... View all feedback.
Great food, price about the same as you would pay in the states. Beef, chicken, seafood, no pork. But true Mexican food.
It’s one if the best places for dining the service is the best you will experience and the food it’s great
Deliish TODO,,el servicio de primera muuy buena atencion de parte de TODO el personal muchas gracias nos vemos muy pronto otra vez!
We enjoyed our lunch at La Roca. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice. The food was tasty, but not outstanding. Anyway, I would probably go back.
We parked in the USA and walked across the border. Sleazy on the Mexican side with lots of beggars and people trying to lead you around for money. Short walk to the restaurant service was good. Salsa was a chunky style and extremely mild. The guacamole was good. There was live music. I had the Sea Bass with extra garlic and hot chilis. It was very good. My husband had the shrimp tacos. They were bland, very tiny shrimp, and very dry! We thought the cost was high for what we received $22 for the sea bass and $17 for the shrimp tacos. It was a fun afternoon but wouldn’t go back. No shopping of any worth around the border area.
