What User doesn't like about Retro Cafe:
Retro used to be a legendary Hobart institution. Sadly, it is a pale shadow of its former self. The service was slow and rude. My breakfast dish was cold, congealed, and poorly presented. My friend's salad was wilted and browning. The whole experience was overpriced, underwhelming and absolutely disappointing. Avoid like the plague. There are so many better offerings at Salamanca. I had one of the best breakfasts I've ever had in Hobart. The service was quick and the food was delicious. The coffee was the perfect finishing touch.

I felt like I was in a retro cafe when I saw a computer with Windows XP. The coffee was a bit too bitter for my taste, but sometimes we just need that caffeine kick, even if it comes with a bit of bitterness!
The moment in which we went, we were greeted with a genuine warm welcome. I'm not a big coffeemaker, but it wasn't bad. the carrot cake was a generous portion and very tasty. highly recommended if they fall in the opposite and prove me wrong.
Decent breakfast, friendly service and good coffee. Suggest that the dodgy old carpets get ditched and upgrade the flooring. (Was happy to find that they could cook scrambled eggs, had tried two previous cafe's and they could only do poached and fried eggs?
