What Reina Cartwright doesn't like about Cavatore Italian Restaurant:
caesar salad was the standout. I tested some of the classics. free brot was less than average and we did not care about the stuffed mushrooms. try it again and order something else than we enjoyed the live piano and the opportunity of the restaurants. View all feedback.

Service was fantastic. Our waiter was attentive, quick, and had great personality. The bread needed to be crisped up a bit more. It was slightly soggy with olive oil. The cesar salad made table side was fantastic. My entree was the fettuccini carbonara, it was great. My husband got the manicotti. While it was good the entire dish was 3 noodles, and the rest was cheese and sauce, so disappointing in that aspect. For dessert we got the chocolate cake and the white and dark chocolate mousse. Mousse was amazing, but the cake was not great. I do feel like the price for my husbands dish was too high considering he only got 3 noodles. My dish was pricy for the portion but it was good enough to justify it. Might go back and try other dishes just to see.
Upon arrival I was a little off put by the exteriors appearance and hesitant to enter and the interior was also a bit off putting. After looking through the menu, it made a little bit more sense as to why the establishment looks the way it does they wanted to “blend Texas and Italy by serving Italian food in a ‘barn.’”The food service was slow but everyone was kind. The complimentary salad was unappetizing but the bread was very good and seasoned. We ordered the carbonara and pesto pasta. All of us enjoyed our food and I dont believe anyone was able to finish even though the portions did not look large they were filling.Kid friendliness: The environment was very welcoming for kids. We saw lots of families dining here and overall the environment would not be inappropriate.
Extremely satisfied with the dining experience that I had at Cavatore on Saturday night! The atmosphere of this restaurant is one of the most unique you'll ever find. From the red and white checkered table cloths, to the live music, or the awesome relics on the walls, this place is a gem.Our server Phocion was absolutely amazing and ensured that we had a great dinner. He had an awesome attitude and made sure our glasses never went empty. Every staff member that I encountered was friendly and acted with urgency when handling requests. All of the food came out very hot and was full of flavor. There's so many options to choose from, I'll have to try a different dish on each visit. But it's gonna be hard to beat that great tasting lasagna! The wine list is quite large and has some very nice selections while being reasonably priced compared to other places. They also have a nice variety of cocktails and assorted spirits.Overall, a great experience and one of the last remaining gems that's still going strong in Houston. Check these guys out!
Cavatore's management has stuck to rigid enforcement of a 5:30 pm opening when there are at least four parties waiting to get in by 5:25. They should show more kindness and respect for their customers. Food is decent. Consider adding raw egg to Cesar Salad if law permits.
