Mockingbird Bistro - Houston

This is a tried and true go-to special occasion restaurant that never disappoints. The food and service is always excellent. I am so sorry to see it go!

We were very disappointed as this was a place we really enjoyed, the salmon I had was so soft it tasted really bad and the calamari was very hard. The service was also very very slow. Maybe this is because the restaurant is closing soon at this location we were told by the Valet parker? wE WILL LIKELY NOT RETURN FOR A WHILE AFTER THE PLAE RFEOPENS AT A NEW LOCATION.

Great soups, service. Did not like being seated by the kitchen.

We had such a wonderful meal! everyone loved every dish and the wonderful wee too. we are so sorry to see mockingbird close! we hope to see them soon in a new location! everything best for chef john sheely, his sweet wife and wonderful staff!

Love the ambiente this place and eating was very good. the value is only not there. Dinner for 2 with only 2 glasses of wine should not be $200. there are simply too many other options in the heights with comparable menus that can be enjoyed for a break from mockingbird totro. also disappointed that after a reservation in advance (for a Sunday) they sit on the bank side of the restaurant with little or no private sphere away from the people 24 inches. many other tables were empty, so not sure why we were changed with the least amount of attractiveness to the area of the restaurant.
