Contribute Feedback What Nyah Bins doesn't like about Imperial Treasure Chinese Restaurant:
Average food that is over priced. Extremely rude staff members who got annoyed when we said no to dishes and automatically placed dishes on the table before we had accepted them. Too much MSG in the food, which caused my skin to break out very badly. View all feedback.
Ok when I found out I was going here and I saw the ratings I was like #yikes what have I gotten myself into ... but honestly??? It's not that bad! The Yum Cha is actually pretty good here. I was in a large group and we got seated at a table away from the main room. At first we didn't think any carts would notice us, but the staff made the effort to carry plates up to us. It's typical Yum Cha food, including desserts like egg tarts and mango pancakes. I'm not sure about membership discounts or prices but I wouldn't mind going back again.
The food here is not of a very high standard and honestly, it's extremely overpriced. We came as a large group and ordered several dishes, none of which we thought were particularly well presented or cooked. As well as this, the soup we started off with had a small fly in it and when we confronted the waiter with this issue he just took the small bowl with the fly in it away without replacing the soup. Overall, this was just a very disappointing experience and we will not be coming back anytime soon.
Takes ages for food to arrive Staff purposely look away from you when you need service. Prices are expensive Should have read the rating before coming here. Suspect the owner and waiters have disputes Hence the waiters keep screwing over the diners
This restaurant is situated in Club Central level 3 at 2, Crofts Avenue in Hurstville. I have heard they had opened a new restaurant called 'Imperial Treasure Chinese Restaurant' for yum cha. Since i am a member of Club Central and always been happy with their friendly service, polite staff and relaxing atmosphere, I thought I would try their new restaurant. So I invited my relatives for yum cha and I thought I would make a good impression on them. I was at the restaurant early to reserve a table. The girl who took the booking was totally arrogant and rude, as if she did not want to be there. She took her time to acknowledge me while she chatted and joked with a male staff. However I did get my table immediately and when i walked into the restaurant, to my horror, I was shocked that the tables and chairs were tightly packed together like sardines. My table was in the middle where there was not enough space for a trolley to go through and my first thought was how are we going to select the food from where we were. I then had to slide into my seat! I was not offer tea which was usually what all yum cha place normally do when the customers are shown to their table. A few staff walked by but none bothered to stop. When my relatives arrived, just like me, they all had to squeezed into the seats where their chairs touched the other customers' seats. It was terribly uncomfortable. I had to request the staff for tea which was totally absurd! Then there were hardly any food or trolleys that went by. Those that did went by from far away did not even bother to come to us. We had to shout for them to come and the food they served were the same kind from 11.30 am to 1.30pm. Not a single tray or trolley of dessert in sight! Whenever we asked for the food we wanted, they kept saying it will be in the next trolley but they never came. None of the regular yum cha dishes such as siu mai, prawn dumplings or chiong fun! They kept serving chicken feet, buns and intestines! Even when our tea ran out, no one came to do their rounds! How absolutely pathetic! I was so embarrassed by the look of discomfort and impatience on my relatives faces. At the end we had to order off the menu as there were scarcely any yum cha food. Oh, by the way, the food is nothing like the pictures they advertised! (It's exactly like comparing a picture of big mac to the real thing). a total waste of money. I should have known better and stick with the one I usually go which is Sunny Seafood Restaurant also in Crofts Avenue.
