Contribute FeedbackEmber Urban Eatery offers a mixed dining experience, praised for its vibrant atmosphere and attentive staff, yet critiqued for inconsistent food quality. Some dishes, like the smoked brisket and unique fettuccine options, delight diners with fresh flavors, while others fall short, lacking seasoning and appeal. While service was slow on occasion, cheerful and knowledgeable staff enhanced the experience. Despite some shortcomings, the eatery shines with creative drinks and a cozy ambiance, making it a charming destination for casual diners. Overall, although there are areas for improvement, Ember Urban Eatery is a worthwhile stop on the outskirts of Indianapolis.
Ember has one of the best Hoosier tenderloin sandwiches that I've ever had the pleasure to consume. And that includes several that were on Reid Duffy's list of the best in the state. If you'd rather have a burger, customize is in just about any way that you could think of. My favorite is to add bacon and peanut butter. The staff is attentive. The prices are surprisingly low for the quality of food and the proximity to downtown. Luckily, Ember is an undiscovered jewel for much of the lunch crowd, which means that you will always be able to find a seat.
This is the best food we have had during our vacation so far. The flavors in every dish were fantastic. I highly recommend trying the goat cheese appetizer. The owner is warm and welcoming, they are always on site. Make sure you don't miss out on this spot!
Wow! Best meal we have had in ... ever. Original recipes and friendly staff. The Cool as a Cucumber cocktail hit the spot on a hot day, and the goat cheese appetizer was excellent. And the Caramel Pecan Ball was awesome.
I discovered Ember Urban Eatery on Open Table while searching for a dinner spot. Parking was convenient and the bar area was welcoming. We enjoyed the Roasted Caprese and wondered why we had never tried it roasted before. My husband had the Chicken Marsala, a large portion of tender chicken with potatoes and veggies. The carrots were so delicious that we considered ordering another side for dessert. I had the Cuban Press, which had wonderful flavor and high quality meat. The highlight of the evening was meeting the owners, who run this fantastic restaurant as a family. We will definitely be returning!
The food was much better than expected looking at the menu. My first thought is they are trying to do too many items but my wife loved her salad and hummus tacos and I completely enjoyed my brisket fettuccine. Everything was fresh. I believe this to be a hidden gem!
